second. Samuel is every small town in this country. It's set in South Georgia, just down the road past Meyers Lake. Everyone knows everyone. It's the summer of 1949 when Miss Gertrude, the town matriarch, passes away and everybody finds out something about her. They didn't know Miss Gertrude was that person who took care of everyone over the years, brought neighbors chicken soup when they were sick, gave piano lessons to the kids and, well, just had a heart as big as the world. But then people start having second thoughts about who this woman really waas and whether she'd been lying to them the whole time. The truth is, she's the Good Samaritan. It divides the town, and neighbors have to wrestle with deciding how much her secret effects what they thought of her. It's a message that's important to tell today. It's funny. It's point mint. We no longer know one another. In this age of Facebook, Twitter and instagram, our discussion so often descend into debate and debate rapidly deteriorates into arguments and insults. We block those who disagree with us or who are different than us. So in this era of social media, How do we address these differences? You gotta start by bringing everybody to the table. And Second Samuel sets a table that nobody can resist.
