I didn't have any training, but I had seen enough movies. I kicked at the barely visible bend in the troll's knees. The troll wobbled but not enough to fall. I had his attention again. If I was going to make a power play now had to be the time I lunged at Orvin using his ferry speed. He avoided me and I crashed on the log. The bark scratched against my face and arms. It stung the water splashing onto my scrape hurt enough to make my stomach churn. Orvin chuckled and loomed over me. I was on my back with nowhere to go. If I rolled off into the water, the current would sweep me down the falls. Hey, troll face, Yara shouted from behind me. Orvin looked up and I kicked him with both feet as hard as I could. This time, Orvin fell enough to the side that the roundness of the log knocked him off balance. I stood up and stomped one of his feet. Orvin fell. I looked over the edge of the bridge. He had managed to catch a branch hanging from the underside of the log and was trying to climb up the current, rolling down the falls, pounded against the troll and kept him from pulling up, do it. Now use the glass. Yara said in my mind, I reached into my bag and took out the wooden box. I held one of the glass balls in my hand. It was time to see if we actually knew how to do this. Command the ferry into the glass by name or in the troll. I said loudly so he could hear me over the falls. I didn't know exactly what I should say. So I tried to be as formal as possible. Who am I? What am I? And what do I want? I shouted, I Isaac Light Keeper, command you into my glass. Orvin yelled in a language. I couldn't make out he was angry, he twisted and pulled up, but it wasn't enough. The troll turned into a small light and then the light vanished, the glass in my hand glowed with a golden light and then letter by letter Orvis name appeared. I did it. I had caught my first ferry.
