Top Talent Status

We’re excited to share the official launch of Top Talent status on Voices. Top Talent on Voices are now recognizable by the Top Talent icon on their profile, a status that showcases these Talent as the highest achievers on the platform and is part of our upcoming Achievements program. This is a way for our best talent to be visually acknowledged on Voices, and to reward their earned success.

The Top Talent badge will initially appear within talent accounts, and most importantly, on talent profiles, where many of our clients go to evaluate a talent’s experience and credibility. It will also appear in Search, and clients will be able to filter their search results by Top Talent. Top Talent status will include visibility throughout the platform, with the badge in key places where clients are evaluating talent, as well as the recently launched “Top Talent” feature that showcases talent on our Home Page.

Top Talent Status

Top Talent status is earned, not based on membership level, so if you meet the criteria of 100 jobs completed, 10 jobs completed in the last 12 months, and an overall 4-star rating, you’ve received this status, whether you’re a guest or paid member.

Other Top Talent Perks and Benefits

  • Top Talent badges on profile pages letting clients know to go to you first
  • Top Talent filters on Search, allowing clients to find you easily
  • High visibility homepage placement in Top Talent feature
  • Included in curated Favorites lists featured on the website (coming later 2023)
  • Priority support

We’re excited to launch this new status, give you something to work towards, and reward you when you achieve important milestones by providing higher visibility and additional perks.

Congratulations to those Voices members who have achieved this status! If you have any feedback, please let us know at [email protected]

Does TOP mean something different in Canada?? Can’t fool anybody in the industry to actually think 10 jobs in the last 12 months makes you a TOP Talent. The only one you are fooling is the actual clients who will be duped to think a person is actually a top talent on your site. I think this will backfire and you will lose clients when those other VO artists can’t deliver and will make voices look bad. I have had a number of clients already start requesting me on another P2P. Also what a slap to the face to your actual top talent people doing 100+ jobs a year. You could called it Promoted Talent and left Top Talent for your top 10 or top 20 on the site. That actually would have made sense and promoted both things.

      Hey Michael!

Top Talent MUST have completed 100 jobs on the platform minimum – the 10 jobs in the last 12 months is additional criteria to ensure recent engagement and those 10 jobs in the last 12 months must continue to be maintained to maintain the top talent status.

      Hey there Michael,

      We appreciate the feedback.

Just to clarify, 10 jobs a year is simply a demonstration of recent engagement on the platform. The total number of jobs booked is the key measurement that earns someone a status level (50 for Rising Star, 75 for Superstar, and 100 for Top Talent.) After someone achieves a status level, they need to continue to book 10 jobs a year to maintain that status level. We may in the future create more status badges, so we’re happy to pass along your feedback to our product team.

Keep in mind that the talent achievement filters in Search that allow for filtering by Top Talent or Up and Coming are simply two filter options.Clients may filter by these options some of the time, but overall they’ll still always be looking for the right talent fit for the job and the right talent for their budget. Sometimes that might be someone with an achievement level, sometimes it won’t be. Search is also only one way clients look for or are connected to talent.

The goal with the achievement tiers is to provide talent members with a merit-based achievement level to work toward. On January 10 of this year, we also retired the Platinum membership, and this change aligns with the same goal of a platform based on an individual’s accomplishments, rather than on membership level. We want to give all talent more opportunities to book jobs. Clients have always valued and continued to hire talent who follow direction, have pro audio quality, are suitable for the role, fit the job budget, and have great acting performance and they will continue to do so. All this being said, this is a brand new program, and we’ll monitor how it’s working for both our clients and our talent over time. We hope you’ll keep us posted and continue to share your feedback. Thank you.

I am very disappointed to learn of this “Top Talent” feature. This ensures that people seeking voices will only use those people designated as “Top Talent” and leave the rest of us with nothing. I’ve been fortunate enough to get some jobs here on Voices, but nowhere near enough to qualify as a “Top Talent”, and now I feel like I’m being left out in the cold. Why not give talent an equal playing field and let the client decide rather than you telling them who the best voices are? I just think this is a terrible idea.

      Hey there Greg,

      Thanks for the feedback.

We hear you and we know this can seem discouraging for someone just starting out on Voices. Keep in mind that the talent achievement filters in Search that allow for filtering by Top Talent or Up and Coming are simply two filter options. Sometimes that might be someone with an achievement level, sometimes it won’t be.

Search is also only one way clients look for or are connected to talent. The main way is still by posting a job (70% of our jobs come from posted jobs) and having our JobMatch algorithm match the best-suited talent to that job. The best way to ensure you’re matched through JobMatch is to make sure you’ve filled out your profile completely and uploaded as many quality demos as you can to demonstrate your various voice over skills. You then want to respond as quickly as possible when you’re matched to jobs, and provide a quality audition every time. I’m very excited about the opportunity to be involved with this company. I have been told all my life I have a great voice. I can do tons of voices. Can’t wait to get started.

I love being a top talent. I have been with Voices since 2009 and I have had the opportunity to grow with the company. I was a platinum member and I was disappointed at first when I found out it was going away. But I like the badging based on performance because a new person can also have a shot at being included as a top talent. Thanks for continuing to work to evolve and grow.

With all the awards going on within the first half of 2023 does “Voices”
      ever hold it’s own competition?
