Working as a creative means that project scope can change on a voice over job even after it is posted – sometimes even before a talent has been hired. In cases where a client posted a job and had already listened to the audition on Voices, this traditionally ‘locked’ the job from further edits (for example, changes to their quote or the audition file itself) by the talent. However, there were occasions where bids needed to be changed, auditions had to be updated, or proposals edited. In these scenarios, the talent or client had to send an email to customer support for assistance, which led to longer turnaround on projects (something no one wants).
Today, based on feedback we’ve gathered from both talent and clients, we’ve added the ability for talent to edit their auditions after a client has listened to their audition file. This will provide a faster and easier experience for everyone working on the job.
Important Things To Know About This Improved Feature:
- Talent can edit an audition up to 3 times
- Editing an audition includes any updates to your proposal, bid, or audition file in a single session
- If the winning talent changed their bid after the client has listened to the audition, the client will be informed when they deposit their SurePay payment
- Talent will still see whether or not a client has listened to their audition, in order to help them determine whether or not to continue with any edit(s)
How Does Editing An Audition Work?
For talent, editing an audition is simple! Simply open a job you’ve answered, navigate to the ‘My Audition’ tab, and select ‘Edit Audition’.
Talent can then make any changes they need to send to the client. They will also see a reminder that the audition and quote have been reviewed and changes will be shown to the client on SurePay deposit.
The feature also includes best practice tips to help guide talent.
Clients will see the following should the winning talent have updated their audition:
We hope you find that these improvements simplify your workflow!

Good! Freeing up the editing is a very worthwhile development, thankyou.
You’re very welcome Howard!
That’s great Cornelia! While I don’t need to change a bid very often it does come up and seems to be a hassle for some clients.
Thanks for listening to our feedback,
Chris
You’re welcome Chris!
This makes a lot of sense and I believe will help both the client and talent.

Do we lose our place in line if we edit our auditions?
Hey Cameron, great question. The order of auditions on the client’s end remains unchanged if/when you edit it. Short answer, no!
